Kairos Groups

April 15, 2019

Kairos Groups | Meeting April 21 through May 31 | Registration Deadline: Monday, April 15

Kairos is a Greek word meaning “appointed time or season,” indicating a moment when God is interrupting the normal flow of things or seeking to get our attention. Reformed theology contends that all of life is lived in the presence of God; the Holy Spirit is actively conforming us to the image of Christ throughout all of life, including the ordinary relationships and contexts we inhabit – family, friends, colleagues, church, neighborhood, home, work, etc.

Kairos Groups are a peer discipleship opportunity for 3-5 individuals who are journeying deeper together, learning to hear and respond to God’s voice in their lives. Each week, Kairos Groups will read a short passage of Scripture in the days leading up to their gathering and then meet weekly for 60 minutes to respond to two primary questions: 1) What is God saying to me? and 2) How will I respond to what God is saying to me?

Kairos groups are not Bible studies so much as Bible-infused, making space for each individual to become not only a hearer of the Word but a doer of the Word (Romans 2:13). As such, each group will receive a packet with Scripture passages that have been curated for Kairos Groups along with instructions on how to structure gatherings and how to pose questions to one another.
